Accounts — organized by currency
Each cryptocurrency you add appears as an Account. Accounts show balance, pending transactions, and a history feed. Clicking an account drills into its detailed view where you can review transactions, export addresses, or manage tokens for smart-contract platforms.

Send & Receive — flows and safety
The Send flow asks for recipient address, amount, and fees. Always verify the full address on your hardware device screen. The Receive flow generates an address to share; addresses are per-account and can - and should - be verified on device before sharing.
Fee presets (low/medium/high) are provided. For smart-contract tokens, Ledger Live shows estimated gas and warnings when interacting with contracts. Confirm all details on the hardware device before approving any operation.
Manager — apps & device maintenance
The Manager lets you install or remove currency apps on your Ledger device, update firmware, and review connected device details. Each app consumes device memory; remove unused apps to free space. Firmware updates are critical — they bring security fixes and compatibility improvements.
Portfolio & Market — tracking and analytics
Portfolio aggregates balances across accounts and provides historical charts. Use the market tab to follow price movements, set alerts, and view token performance. Portfolio analytics help you understand allocation across assets and identify concentration risks.
Staking & Yield — earn from holdings
Supported validators and staking options appear inside eligible account views. Ledger Live shows estimated APR, lockup durations, and unbonding periods. Before staking, inspect validator reputation, fees, and whether rewards are auto-compounded.
Security — key principles
Ledger Live is the app layer; your private keys remain on the hardware device. Never share your recovery phrase. Use a PIN on the device, verify addresses and transaction details on the device screen, and keep device firmware current. Use a passphrase only if you understand its implications — it creates a hidden wallet but adds recovery complexity.
Settings & Advanced
Settings include language, currency display, experimental features, and network options. Advanced users can enable custom nodes or configure explorer preferences. Always review how changes affect privacy and connectivity.
Accessibility & UX notes
Ledger Live supports keyboard navigation, high-contrast themes, and descriptive labels. The UI intentionally groups risky actions (like installing firmware or resetting a device) behind extra confirmation steps to avoid accidental loss.
